Longevitas releases free software for creating mortality tables

Publication Date:

Longevitas Ltd has released a free software package for the creation of mortality tables.  The software is capable of simultaneously smoothing (graduating) mortality rates and extrapolating them to ages where data is sparse or even non-existent.  The software will work on other demographic risk rates besides mortality, including critical illness and PHI.  Stephen Richards, Managing Director of Longevitas Ltd, said "Actuaries around the world need to both smooth and extrapolate mortality rates.  We hope the global actuarial community will find this software useful.".
